MA Lighting introduced the new grandMA2 series during Prolight + Sound 2008
02.04.2008
At this year’s Prolight + Sound exhibition there was some very special news for visitors to MA Lighting’s booth. The renowned grandMA system was getting even bigger and more powerful. Not by just one console, but a complete new grandMA2 series including three different hardware solutions plus the grandMA2 replay-unit, the grandMA2 faderwing and the successor of the MA NSP the MA NPU (Network Processing Unit). In addition, MA Lighting showed the new highly improved versions of its grandMA 3D and grandMA video software. During the four days of the trade show the booth was very busy with visitors from all over the world who enjoyed, at least, to glimpse the new consoles. MA Lighting would like to thank everyone for making this launch such a huge success.
Managing director Michael Althaus spoke about the grandMA2: “We kept the intuitive grandMA control philosophy, including the same command line, for the new series. However, we have further improved the software and optimised the displays for clarity. The new hardware has an enhanced networking architecture that is even more powerful but allows compatibility with the grandMAs that everyone has come to love. Additionally the newly designed screens permit easy access to all commands. grandMA2 will redefine the control of multimedia filled lighting rigs.”
The day before the start of prolight + sound 2008 MA Lighting held its distributor day in Wuerzburg. Over 50 distributors from more than 30 countries came over. The location offered everyone the opportunity to see the MA Lighting factory nearby. Although this was one highlight for the guests the introduction of the new grandMA2 series received a more enthusiastic reaction.
