MA Lighting at Prolight + Sound 2018: grandMA3 will be shown live for the first time

The grandMA3 lighting console series, that was announced earlier this year, will be shown to the public for the first time at Prolight + Sound exhibition in Frankfurt 10th-14th April.

New Open Data standard: General Device Type Format developed by Vectorworks, Inc., MA Lighting and Robe lighting

Vectorworks, Inc., MA Lighting and Robe lighting announce a new development for the entertainment design and production industry that will change the way lighting designers, lighting fixture manufacturers, lighting console manufacturers and lighting visualizers will work together.

The three companies have jointly led the charge to develop a new data format, named the General Device Type Format (GDTF), which creates a unified definition for the exchange of device data between consoles, CAD and previsualization software. Read more...

Video: dot2 joins Bundesjugendballett

During its latest series called "Im Aufschwung" (in upswing) the Bundesjugendballett was joined by a dot2 XL-F. In this video Bundesjugendballett technical director Hannes Hoehler shows its workplace in the Ernst Deutsch theatre and talks about his experiences with the dot2  - espcecially in a theatre situation.

grandMA2 Insider Tip

Did you know that...

you can us additional store filter to store every position preset or cue either with Pan/Tilt or XYZ values. This option can be changed in the store options, and has the states, Active position data, XYZ and Pan/Tilt. Depending on the option selected, position values will be:

Active position mode: Stores position data as they are (as Pan/Tilt or XYZ values)
XYZ: Converts and stores position data as XYZ values
Pan/Tilt: Converts and stores position data as Pan/Tilt values
