Bahrain’s Summer Festival 2012

The fourth annual Bahrain Summer Festival was recently staged at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIECC). Organised by Bahrain’s Ministry of Culture under the slogan “Manama, City of Joy” the festival offered a wide variety of artistic and cultural shows by international artists.

Lighting designer/operator and head of lighting Sonu A.B. used a grandMA2 full-size to control the lighting rig that included Clay Paky, Martin and ETC fixtures.

Sonu commented: “I’m always working with the grandMA2. It’s not only about its absolute reliability, its ease of use or the sophisticated effects engine, it is about the whole system philosophy of MA Lighting and of course the great support!”

“My basic design idea was that the rig had to suit different needs as there were multiple artist on stage during the festival”, continued Sonu, “We had live music from Rap to traditional Arabic bands as well as theatrical performances. Therefore it was vital to have a rig as flexible as possible. All in all the fixtures that I used and of course the MA control proved to be the right choice.”

SHOWTECH Productions WLL delivered the lighting equipment.
