MA Network Switch tours with Andreas Bourani

German artist Andreas Bourani recently toured his “Hey” tour through Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Bourani’s success story started with his song “Auf uns” (on us) during the 2014 football World Cup. Timo Martens, Philip Hillers and Nik Evers created the stage, video content and lighting design for the tour.

They chose 3 x grandMA2 light, 4 x MA Network Switch, 4 x MA NPU (Network Processing Unit), 2 x MA 8Port Nodes and 11 x MA Digital Dimmer 12 x 2,3kVA5 for lighting control.

Nik Evers explained the lighting design he realized together with Timo Martens and Philip Hillers: “One task was to light Andreas Bourani and his band perfectly. Besides this we had other considerations. For example the musicians shouldn’t be disturbed by the lighting, and the lighting had to ‘complete’ and emphasize the stage design. Each lighting system should stand for itself. It was a question of outlines, clear simple forms, the logo and independence. It was our goal to support the stage architecture as well as the content areas and to combine all components into a coherent concept.”

Project manager Dominik Müller of Black Box Music explained: “Black Box prefers products from MA Lighting’s German distributor Lightpower because they have excellent support, especially when it comes to using new products like - in this case - the MA Network Switch.”

“The MA Network Switch is truly great! You don’t need much time to understand the menu. The graphical user interface and the assignment of the networking protocols to ports make the admin job in both bigger and smaller networks much easier. On any account is it a fantastic product that we are using on the current Sarah Connor tour as well.”

André Breß was the lighting operator. Boris Kayser worked as media server operator and Conrad Neumann as system technician. The pre-programming was completed at Prefocus GmbH (Tilman Schumacher and Tobias Heydthausen). The lighting equipment package was supplied by Black Box Music – Veranstaltungstechnik GmbH.
